Zapier GetMax Automated Publishing: Streamline Your Content

In this guide, we’ll explore how to automate your article distribution process using Zapier and GetMax, making your publishing workflow more efficient and effective from the outset.

1. Creating a New Zap: A Step-by-Step Guide

It is recommended to use the manual management process, as the “automate” mode is currently unstable.

2. Setting Up the Trigger in Zapier: Initiating Your Workflow

Initiate the process by clicking on ‘1. Trigger’.

Proceed to search for and select GetMax.

Search and select GetMax.

Opt for the ‘New Article Ready for Publish’ event from the options.

Choose the event 'New Article Ready for Publish'.

Then, click ‘continue’ to move forward.

Click 'continue'.

[If your account is already linked, skip this step] Otherwise, click ‘Sign in’ to link your account.

For those who have previously logged into GetMax, an authorization page will appear; click ‘Allow’ here.

Once authorization is complete, select ‘Continue’.

Following that, activate the ‘Test trigger’ option.

Wait to receive a sample article data, then select ‘Continue with selected record’.

3. Publishing to Your Chosen Platform: Customizing Your Distribution

Select the platform for publishing; for example, let’s choose Medium.

In Medium, search and select the event named ‘Create story’. Note that event names vary by platform, like ‘Create COS Blog Post’ in HubSpot. Ensure you choose the correct event.

Click ‘Continue’ to proceed.

Click 'Continue'.

Sign into the platform by clicking ‘Sign in’.

Click 'Sign in'

Once logged in, click ‘Continue’ again.

Click 'Continue'.

Map each required field to correspond with the GetMax article fields.

After setting up all necessary fields, click ‘Continue’.

Test the setup by clicking ‘Test step’, which will publish a sample article. If you prefer not to publish, choose ‘Skip test’.

At this point, you can click publish to use it. However, it is still recommended to take one more step to ensure the data consistency of GetMax, syncing the publishing results back to GetMax.

4. Notifying GetMax: Completing the Publishing Cycle

Click ‘Add a step’ below.

Select GetMax again.

Select GetMax again.

Choose the ‘Notify Article Published’ event.

Click ‘Continue’, and also choose ‘Continue’ for the Account.

In the Action step, use the Article ID from the Trigger.

For Published URL, use the URL returned by the publishing platform in the second step.

Click ‘Continue’.

Click 'Continue'.

Click ‘Test step’, this will send the data back to GetMax. If you clicked ‘Test step’ in the second step, click ‘Test step’ here too. Otherwise, click ‘Skip test’.

Finally, click here to Publish, ensuring the status is set to ‘On’. You will have completed the process.”
